Putt-Putt's many different color choices

Color Changing is a feature in the Putt-Putt series in which Putt-Putt changes his color and is an option to play in the game as the color you choose. There are six different color choices to choose from: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Almost all games contain a color changing feature, except for Putt-Putt and Pep's Dog on a Stick.

Junior Adventures[]

Putt-Putt Joins the Parade[]

In Putt-Putt Joins the Parade is the Cartown Color where Putt-Putt can change his color. However: he needs three coins to enter the Cartown Color. In addition, the dialogue between Putt-Putt and Smokey would be different if Putt-Putt did change his color.

Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon[]

The feature of color changing in Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon is quite unknown, but it can be done by drinking three glasses of soda in the same color when Putt-Putt visits the Cosmic Dust Diner.

Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo[]

In Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo, Putt-Putt can go to the Paint Shack in the Grasslands to change his color. It is the only time where Putt-Putt can't apply the same color twice. On some occasions, Putt-Putt may accidentally paint Pep's head, causing Pep to bark angrily at him.

Putt-Putt Travels Through Time[]

In Putt-Putt Travels Through Time, the color changing feature is located into the Future. When he visits Ms. Electra to change his color at the Paint-O-Rama. Apart from the color changing features in other games, which have only 6 colors to choose from (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple), the Paint-O-Rama also has three versions of each color (normal, light and dark) for a total of 18 colors to choose from.

Putt-Putt Enters the Race[]

In Putt-Putt Enters the Race, the Cartown Color returns. It once again costs three coins to enter. This is the first game in which the color of the dashboard changes with the outside of Putt-Putt.

Putt-Putt Joins the Circus[]

In Putt-Putt Joins the Circus, Baby Jambo can paint Putt-Putt in a different color when he desires.

Putt-Putt: Pep's Birthday Surprise[]

In Putt-Putt: Pep's Birthday Surprise, Marvin the Marvelous can change Putt-Putt's color with one of his magic wands. However, unlike nearly all the other games, it only works for a while. The colors available are red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and transparent after the color is put on Putt-Putt returns back to purple instantly taking away the feature of going around the game in a different color whenever you play.

Junior Arcades[]

Putt-Putt and Pep's Balloon-O-Rama[]

The Junior Arcade of Putt-Putt and Pep's Balloon-o-Rama, contains a color changing feature as well. In some levels, starting from level 64 there are paint buckets carried by balloons. When Pep pops one of those balloons, the paint bucket falls. If it falls on Putt-Putt, his color is changed instantly. Apart from the standard six colors available in most Putt-Putt games, this game has two extra colors: gray (paint in the bucket looks like white) and pink.

Trivia[]

  • In some of the games, the paint colors have alternate nicknames:
    • In Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo, the nicknames are Fire Engine Red, Sunny Yellow, Alligator Green and Cool Blue. Orange and Purple don't have any nicknames.
    • In Putt-Putt Enters the Race, the nicknames are Fire Engine Red, Orangey Orange, Sunny Yellow, Lime Green and Cool Blue
    • In Putt-Putt Joins the Circus, the nicknames are Raspberry Red, Orangey Orange, Lemon Yellow, Grassy Green, Blueberry Blue and Putt-Putt Purple.
